Editorial policy

Reader suitability and evidence quality take priority over product popularity or future commercial opportunity.

Editorial principles

  • Separate sourced fact, manufacturer claim and editorial analysis.
  • Do not imply first-hand use when none occurred.
  • Lead with suitability limitations and hard-gate failures.
  • Do not let a commission rate, sponsorship or retailer relationship determine coverage or verdicts.
  • Correct material errors visibly.

Product selection

Future coverage should reflect UK relevance, user demand, distinctive capability, evidence availability and meaningful comparison, not merely access to a commercial programme.

Samples and conflicts

Any future machine page must state whether a unit was purchased, borrowed, donated, discounted or retained and whether a manufacturer reviewed factual details before publication. A manufacturer may identify a factual error but may not negotiate an editorial conclusion.

Use of AI assistance

Automated tools may support research organisation, drafting or quality checks. A human publisher remains responsible for source selection, claims, corrections and publication. AI output is not evidence.
