How Laser Gear Scout researches machines
Every important claim should reveal where it came from and what, if anything, Laser Gear Scout did to verify it.
Our evidence states
On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to read every column.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer claim | Published by the manufacturer and not independently confirmed by us. |
| Specification checked | Checked against identifiable documentation or the supplied configuration; not a physical performance result. |
| Research-only analysis | Our interpretation of cited manufacturer, regulatory and reputable third-party evidence. No physical machine test is implied. |
| Field tested | Used by a named person on documented real projects, without completing every current benchmark. |
| Bench tested | Completed the applicable versioned Laser Gear Scout protocol with documented conditions and results. |
Source order
- Legislation, regulators and standards bodies for safety and legal context.
- Manufacturer manuals, declarations and technical documentation for stated specifications.
- Identifiable independent measurements and expert evidence.
- Owner reports for issue discovery, labelled as anecdotal rather than universal.
Rules for future physical evaluation
A test record should name the tester and editor; identify the machine, hardware revision, firmware and software; state whether it was purchased, borrowed or supplied; document the method version, materials, settings, repeats and failures; and preserve original evidence where practical.
Scoring restraint
Laser Gear Scout will not publish a precise composite score until enough comparable machines have been measured under a stable protocol. A research-only machine will not be blended into a physically tested ranking.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected visibly, with the date and nature of the change recorded. See the corrections policy.
