Check compatibility at machine level
A brand may sell several controllers or product families with different levels of compatibility. Confirm the exact model, controller, operating system and features you require.
Sourced fact LightBurn maintains a controller and device compatibility reference rather than presenting compatibility as universal. See supported controllers.
Questions for a real workflow
- Can core design, positioning and job execution work offline?
- Which features require manufacturer software?
- Can files and settings be exported in useful formats?
- Are speed units unambiguous?
- How are camera calibration, autofocus and curved-surface work handled?
- What happens if software support or a cloud service changes?
- Can jobs be repeated and audited consistently?
Do not treat presets as universal evidence
A preset is tied to material, thickness, optical output, focus, air assist, units and desired result. Future settings content must identify those conditions and distinguish documented experiments from community submissions.
Research-only analysis Software lock-in is not automatically bad, and open compatibility is not automatically sufficient. The right question is whether the complete workflow remains dependable for the buyer’s work.
